Problem Understanding
We are given up to 100 triangles on the plane. Each triangle represents a black spot on a white square. Triangles may overlap, intersect, or even completely cover one another. The task is to compute the perimeter of the union of all black regions.
The perimeter here is not the sum of triangle perimeters. Internal borders between overlapping triangles disappear because the color does not change there. Only edges separating black and white regions contribute.
Geometrically, we are looking for the boundary length of the union of polygons.
The coordinate range is small enough for floating point stability to be manageable, but large enough that any grid-based approximation would fail. The triangles are arbitrary, so the boundary can contain fragments of many different edges.
The constraint of at most 100 triangles means there are at most 300 segments total. That is the real scale of the problem. An algorithm around cubic complexity in the number of segments is still acceptable. Something around $300^3$ is large but feasible in optimized geometry code. A much worse approach, such as checking every tiny region of the plane or constructing arrangements explicitly, would become impractical.
The most dangerous part of this problem is that the visible boundary may contain only fragments of an edge. A whole edge is almost never either completely visible or completely hidden.
Consider these triangles:
Triangle A:

Triangle B lies completely inside A. The perimeter of the union is just the perimeter of A. A naive solution that adds all edge lengths and subtracts overlaps would incorrectly count the inner triangle.
Another subtle case happens when two triangles partially overlap:

Part of each slanted edge becomes internal, but other parts remain exposed. Treating edges as indivisible objects fails here because visibility changes along the segment.
A third tricky scenario is edge intersections. Suppose two edges cross exactly once. The visible boundary changes at the intersection point, so we must split segments there. If we do not, we cannot correctly determine which portions belong to the outer boundary.
The statement guarantees that every pair of sides intersects in at most one point. That simplifies the geometry significantly because we never need to deal with overlapping collinear segments.
Approaches
The brute-force idea is straightforward. For every edge of every triangle, determine which parts are visible from outside the union. If we could somehow split each segment into small intervals where visibility is constant, then we could sum the lengths of intervals that lie on the boundary.
The problem is finding those intervals.
A completely naive geometric approach would build the full planar subdivision induced by all edges. Every edge intersection becomes a vertex, and every region must be classified as inside or outside the union. With 300 segments, the number of regions and adjacency relations becomes cumbersome to maintain. The implementation is much harder than necessary.
The key observation is that the perimeter is composed entirely of pieces of original triangle edges. No new curve appears. Visibility only changes at intersection points between segments.
That means each edge can be processed independently.
Take one segment. Collect every parameter value where another segment intersects it. Also include the endpoints. These points partition the segment into smaller intervals. Inside each interval, nothing changes geometrically because no crossing occurs there.
So instead of reasoning about the entire plane, we only need to test one representative point from each interval. If the midpoint lies strictly inside another triangle, then that interval is hidden inside the union. Otherwise it contributes to the perimeter.
This reduces the problem to repeated segment intersection tests and point-in-triangle queries.
There are at most 300 edges. Each edge intersects at most 299 others, so each segment gets split into at most about 300 intervals. Testing every interval against all triangles leads to roughly:

operations, plus geometric predicates. This comfortably fits within the limit.

Algorithm Walkthrough
- Read all triangles and store their three vertices.
- Convert every triangle into its three directed edges.
- For each edge segment $AB$, create a list of parameter values along the segment. Initially the list contains only 0 and 1, representing the endpoints.
- For every other segment $CD$, compute whether the two segments intersect.
- If they intersect at a proper point, compute the parameter $t$ such that:
$$P = A + t(B - A)$$
and add $t$ to the list for segment $AB$.
The reason this works is that visibility can only change where another boundary crosses the segment.
- Sort all collected parameter values and remove duplicates caused by numerical precision.
- Consecutive parameter values define subsegments where the geometric configuration stays unchanged.
- For every consecutive pair $(t_i, t_{i+1})$, compute the midpoint parameter:

and evaluate the actual midpoint on the segment.
- Test whether this midpoint lies strictly inside any triangle other than possibly the triangle owning the edge.
If the midpoint is inside another triangle, this interval is internal and contributes nothing.
If the midpoint is outside all other triangles, this interval belongs to the outer boundary and its length is added to the answer.
- Sum the lengths of all visible intervals and print the result.
Why it works
The union boundary is made entirely from fragments of original triangle edges. Between two consecutive intersection points on an edge, the local configuration of the plane cannot change because no boundary crosses that interval.
That means either the whole interval is exposed to the outside, or the whole interval lies inside the union. Testing a single midpoint correctly classifies the entire interval.
Every visible boundary fragment is counted exactly once because it belongs to exactly one interval on exactly one original edge.

The implementation mirrors the geometric reasoning directly.
The segment_intersection function computes the parameter value along the first segment. Since the problem guarantees no overlapping collinear edges, parallel segments can simply be ignored.
The splitting logic uses parameter coordinates instead of actual points. This avoids repeated distance computations and keeps subdivision numerically stable.
The midpoint test uses strict containment. A midpoint exactly on another triangle boundary should still contribute because boundaries belong to the perimeter. Using strict interior checks avoids accidentally deleting valid boundary fragments.
Another subtle detail is duplicate intersection parameters. Multiple edges can intersect at the same endpoint, so the sorted parameter list must be deduplicated with an epsilon comparison.
The final length contribution is:

because the parameterization is linear along the segment.
