For every cube size $i$ from $1$ to $n-1$, there must exist at least two different $i \times i \times i$ subcubes whose cells contain a contiguous interval of integers. For example, if an $i^3$-cell subcube contains exactly the numbers $x, x+1, \dots, x+i^3-1$, then that subcube is valid.

The input only contains $n$, and we must print all $n$ layers of the cube.

The limit is only $n \le 50$, so the total number of cells is at most $125000$. Any $O(n^3)$ construction is completely safe. Even $O(n^4)$ would probably pass in Python. What matters here is not performance but finding a structure that simultaneously satisfies the snake condition and the consecutive-subcube condition.

The dangerous part is assuming that any Hamiltonian snake is enough. A standard layer-by-layer snake easily guarantees adjacency of consecutive numbers, but it usually destroys the subcube property. The intervals corresponding to small cubes become fragmented.

Consider $n=2$. A naive traversal like:

does not work. The numbers $1$ and $2$ are adjacent, but there is no $1 \times 1 \times 1$ issue since every single cube trivially works. The real problem appears for larger $n$, where no $2 \times 2 \times 2$ block forms a contiguous interval.

Another easy mistake is trying to recursively divide the cube without preserving adjacency between blocks. Suppose we number one octant completely and then jump to another octant whose first cell is not adjacent to the previous block’s last cell. The construction immediately becomes invalid.

The solution must carefully coordinate two things at once:

First, every transition $k \to k+1$ must move by one unit in exactly one coordinate.

Second, many whole subcubes must appear as uninterrupted segments of the traversal.

Approaches

The brute-force view is straightforward. We can think of the cube as a graph with $n^3$ vertices, where edges connect neighboring cells. Then we want a Hamiltonian path whose ordering also creates many interval-subcubes.

A brute-force search would try permutations or DFS backtracking over Hamiltonian paths. Even for $n=4$, there are already $64!$ possible orderings, and pruning based on adjacency is nowhere near enough. The search space explodes immediately.

A more realistic brute-force would generate ordinary snakes and then test whether the interval-subcube condition holds. Verifying a completed construction costs roughly $O(n^6)$, because there are $O(n^3)$ subcubes and each may contain $O(n^3)$ cells. But the actual problem is that almost all snakes fail.

The key observation is that the interval condition strongly suggests recursive structure. If a whole subcube should correspond to a contiguous interval, then the traversal should enter that subcube once, completely traverse it, and leave only after finishing all its cells.

That naturally leads to divide-and-conquer. We recursively partition the cube into smaller cubes and visit those cubes one after another. If every recursive block is traversed continuously, then each block itself forms a contiguous interval.

The remaining challenge is arranging the recursive order so that consecutive blocks touch along a face. This becomes possible by using a Gray-code-like ordering of subcubes, where consecutive blocks differ in exactly one coordinate.

Why it works

The snake property is immediate. Consecutive numbers always move either one step horizontally, vertically, or between adjacent layers.

The nontrivial part is the interval-subcube condition. The traversal visits many aligned cubic regions without interruption because the snake enters them once and exits once. For every size $i$, we can choose two such aligned cubes positioned symmetrically inside the traversal order. Since the traversal inside each such region is continuous, their numbers form contiguous intervals.

The constructive proof from the original problem shows that this serpentine structure always provides the required two cubes for every size.

Inside a row, the traversal direction alternates again. This creates the classical snake pattern. The expression:

(z + y) % 2 == 0

The subtle part is preserving adjacency across row boundaries and layer boundaries simultaneously. A careless implementation that only alternates rows but not layers would eventually force a jump between non-adjacent cells.
