Problem Understanding
We have up to 50 subjects. Each subject has three properties.
The interval $[a_i, b_i]$ describes how many homework exercises this subject may assign. We are free to choose any value inside that interval.
The value $c_i$ is the subject complexity. The timetable must use subjects in strictly increasing order of complexity, so if we choose subjects $p_1, p_2, \dots, p_n$, then:
$$c_{p_1} < c_{p_2} < \dots < c_{p_n}$$
The homework counts must also follow a special transition rule. If the current day has $x$ exercises, then the next day must contain either:
$$x + k$$
or
$$x \cdot k$$
Among all valid timetables of exactly $n$ subjects, we want the one with the maximum total number of exercises.
The first thing that matters in the constraints is the size of the intervals. Values themselves can be as large as $10^{16}$, so brute-forcing homework counts is impossible. But the interval width satisfies:
$$b_i - a_i \le 100$$
This changes everything. Even though values are huge, each subject only allows at most 101 distinct homework counts. That means the true state space is tiny.
The second important constraint is that $m \le 50$. A solution with complexity around $50^3 \cdot 100^2$ is perfectly safe.
The hardest part of the problem is recognizing that we should not think about arbitrary integers. We only care about values that actually appear inside some subject interval.
Several edge cases are easy to mishandle.
Suppose $k = 1$. Then the two allowed transitions become:
$$x_i = x_{i-1} + 1$$
or
$$x_i = x_{i-1}$$
A careless implementation might assume multiplication always increases the value and accidentally create cycles or invalid transitions.
For example:

because multiplication by 1 keeps the value unchanged.
Another dangerous case is duplicate complexities. Subjects with the same complexity cannot both appear in the timetable.

We may only choose one of the first two subjects.
Large values also create overflow traps in languages with fixed-width integers.

Using 32-bit integers would completely break this case.
A more subtle issue appears when maximizing the sum greedily. Picking the locally largest homework count may block future transitions.

If we greedily choose 5 on the first day, then the next value must be 7 or 10, neither of which fits subject 2. The optimal valid sequence is:
4 -> 6 -> 8
with total 18.
Approaches
A brute-force approach would try every subset of $n$ subjects, every valid ordering by complexity, and every homework count inside each interval.
Each subject has at most 101 possible homework values. Even if we fix the subjects, that already gives roughly:
$$101^n$$
possible sequences. With $n = 50$, this is astronomically large.
The brute-force works conceptually because the transition rule is local. Once we know yesterday's homework count, we can determine today's possibilities. The problem is simply that the branching factor is too large.
The key observation is that every usable homework value must belong to some interval $[a_i, b_i]$, and every interval contains at most 101 numbers. Since there are at most 50 subjects, the total number of distinct homework values across the entire input is at most:
$$50 \cdot 101 = 5050$$
That is small enough for dynamic programming.
We can think of each state as:
$$(dp[i][v])$$
meaning:
"We end at subject $i$ using homework count $v$."
From one state, we can transition to another if:
- The next subject has strictly larger complexity.
- The next homework count equals either $v + k$ or $v \cdot k$.
- The next value lies inside the next subject interval.
Since the objective is maximizing the total sum, the DP stores the best achievable total.
The problem becomes a longest-path style DP on a directed acyclic graph. Complexity ordering guarantees acyclicity.

Algorithm Walkthrough
- Read all subjects and sort them by complexity.
Sorting is necessary because valid timetables must use strictly increasing complexities. Once sorted, every valid transition goes forward in the array. 2. For every subject, enumerate all possible homework counts inside its interval.
Since every interval width is at most 100, this produces at most 101 values per subject. 3. Define a DP state.
Let:
$$dp[i][t]$$
represent the maximum total exercises for a valid sequence ending at subject $i$ using the $t$-th value from its interval. 4. Initialize all one-subject sequences.
Any single subject can start the timetable, so:
$$dp[i][t] = value$$
initially. 5. Try transitions between every pair of subjects.
For subjects $j \to i$, the transition is allowed only if:
$$c_j < c_i$$
Then for every homework value $x$ of subject $j$, compute the only two possible next values:
$$x + k$$
and
$$x \cdot k$$
If either value belongs to subject $i$'s interval, we can update the DP. 6. Store parent pointers.
Whenever a transition improves the DP value, record the previous state. This allows reconstruction of the timetable later. 7. Track sequence length separately.
We need exactly $n$ subjects, not merely the maximum sum. So each DP state also stores how many subjects were used.
8. Among all states using exactly $n$ subjects, pick the one with maximum total sum.
9. Reconstruct the answer using parent pointers.
10. If no state reaches length $n$, print "NO".
Why it works
The DP processes every valid final state exactly once.
A valid timetable ending at subject $i$ and value $v$ must come from exactly one previous homework count:
$$v - k$$
or some value satisfying:
$$v = previous \cdot k$$
The transition rules are local, so extending an optimal partial timetable always preserves optimality. Because complexities strictly increase, transitions form a DAG, and no cyclic dependencies appear.
The DP invariant is:
$$dp[i][t]$$
stores the maximum total exercises among all valid sequences ending at that exact state.
Every legal timetable corresponds to one path in the DP graph, and every DP path corresponds to a legal timetable. Since we maximize over all paths of length $n$, the algorithm is correct.

The first major implementation choice is storing explicit homework values for every subject. Since interval widths never exceed 100, this stays compact and avoids complicated coordinate compression.
The DP keeps two separate pieces of information.
len_dp[i][t] stores how many subjects are used in the best sequence ending at that state.
dp[i][t] stores the corresponding total sum.
The order of comparison matters. We always prefer larger sequence length first because the problem requires exactly $n$ subjects. Among sequences of equal length, we maximize the total exercises.
A subtle implementation detail is handling duplicate transition results. When $k = 1$, the two transitions:
x + k
x * k
may become consecutive values like x + 1 and x, or even duplicate values in special situations. The code naturally handles this because both are checked independently.
The pos_i dictionary gives $O(1)$ lookup for whether a target value exists inside the next interval. Without it, every transition would require scanning up to 101 values repeatedly.
Parent reconstruction stores only the previous DP state. Since transitions form a DAG ordered by complexity, reconstruction is straightforward.

The trace shows why dynamic programming is necessary. A sequence can alternate between additive and multiplicative transitions, so greedy local decisions are unreliable.
